Well it's my 47th birthday and I have been pregnant for 3 weeks. I started to feel nauseous. Wow, I can hardly believe that I am now prepnant. There is no doubt about it now. I can hardly eat the food I prepared for the missionaries today.
I am grateful that I can have the confidence in the Lord to act on the revelations I had received.
I had missed most of my last days in teaching Seminary. I couldn't even attend Elias graduation that happened in early June because they served a meal there and at that point, I can hardly stand any smell.
My poor family, has been cooking mostly outside. Our rice cooker is outside, our air fryer is outside, the grill is well used outside of the house. I lived on whole milk, cereal. I was so nauseous I was throwing up at least twice a day.
I drove to Oxford one time to pick up my sign on a house that I sold for a client. I threw up on the side of the road on the way there, and I threw up on the way home, again on the side of the road. Some people stopped to offer help but there was nothing they could do for me so I simply nodded and let them know I am ok and thanked them for their offer.
I basically slept most of the time. My kids started to wonder and we finally told them at the end of July. Elias said, "I was wondering why you are getting fat", ha ha. I think he meant that my belly is more showing now at this time.
It's so hot, I ended up ordering a swimming pool. I just didn't know I could survive this morning sickness without being in the water, so I thought it was a good excuse to have one. We ordered it in June, but got installed in early August. So we had a couple of months use of the pool. It really helpe me a lot.
I was so blessed that during the worse part of morning sickness, my fruit trees were high producing at Shawnee house. So i went and pick the plums, and ate most of it. So good.
I went and pick up apples, there were to many apples, I gave away a few bags full to my neighbor in the community, Amber Guseman. I also gave a few bags to Sister Teri Anderson. Adam and I drank a lot of fresh apple juice. It was so good and so helpful with constipation. While the doctors prescribed medication to deal with constipation, I found out that drinking apple juice helped so much. It was definitely a better way.
I ate a lot of blueberries. I was worried about getting back to seminary teaching at the end of August but they finally released me and found another teacher.
So gratelful for the time I was called to be the seminary teacher. I really enjoyed it and the opportunity gave me or helped me develop enough faith to make that decision to follow the Savior, even something that was very hard at first. I thought I was making a sacrifice but in realy I was given a priviledge.
We had a staycation this summer. The only thing that grew well in my garden was okra, tomatoes, and bell pepper. Although I love okra, I couldn't take much of it during morning sickness so I canned and froze most of it. I also managed to endure the smell of making home made salsa. I had so much coming and gave a few but i thought I should make some preserve from my own garden.
Scott asked my why I planted mostly Okra. I replied, "that was the only thing that survived without me tending to it." I was still very sick enough to even care to water the garden.
The morning sickness went away around 6 months to 7 months then it midly came back towards the end.
In hindsight, I was thankful that I did not have a due date of October, November or December that I had previously requested from the Lord, or I would not have survived the last month of tax season. Wow, I was so sick, I couldn't imagine being that sick and do taxes to the deadline. The Lord really knows best. I am so glad He knows.
